The Common Application (more commonly known as the Common App) is an undergraduate college and university admissions application that applicants may use to apply to over 1,000 member colleges and universities in all 50 states.

Admissions: NC Residency Determinition Service
The Residency Determination Service (RDS) was established in coordination with the University of North Carolina (UNC), the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS), the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA), and the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) as the centralized service for determining residency for students. This service enables a student to use one residency determination for when applying to multiple North Carolina public colleges and universities and to demonstrate residency for state aid programs consideration at all (public and private) North Carolina colleges and universities.

Admissions: CFNC Application Hub / Transcript Manager
The application hub is where you can apply to all community colleges and several 4 year colleges and universities. It is also the place where you will send your transcripts to all post secondary institutions (colleges and universities).

College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) is a free service of the State of Add Headings (Format > Paragraph styles) and they will appear in your table of contents. North Carolina provided by a collaboration of Pathways (the NC Department of Public Instruction, the NC Community College System, the NC Independent Colleges and Universities and The University of North Carolina System) designed to help you plan, apply and pay for college.
Testing Links
Many colleges and universities are currently test optional but if you wish to take the ACT or SAT here are their links. You will need to create an ACT account and have your ACT ID printed on your scores if you want to send your ACT scores from the test you took at school. All UNC System and NC community colleges are currently (Through Fall 2024) test optional, as well as several private colleges and universities.
Scholarship Links
A scholarship is a form of financial aid awarded for further education. Generally, scholarships are awarded based on a set of criteria such as academic merit, diversity, athletic skill, and financial need. Scholarship criteria usually reflect the values and goals of the donor of the award, and while scholarship recipients are not required to repay scholarships, the awards may require that the recipient continue to meet certain requirements during their period of support, such maintaining a minimum GPA or engaging in a certain activity (e.g., playing on a univerity team). In addition to school sponsored scholarships there are many sources you can look at as a source of scholarships. These could include community organizations, churches, and employers (including parents). We will update the South Rowan Scholarship Database when we have new scholarships that become available to us.

Career & College Promise

CCP: Eligibility
Career & College Promise, qualified high school students in North Carolina have the opportunity to pursue dual enrollment options, tuition free, allowing them to get a jump start on career and college preparation. Students will be responsible for certain fees to include textbooks. Students who opt to take nine or more credits will be responsible for a student activity fee and any associated lab fees. Students must be a Junior or Senior and must have a qualifying GPA (Typically a 3.0) to be eligible.
